Our Dance Shows & Musical Theatre Shows …
Every two years the whole school comes together to put on a BEAUTIFUL dance show. Every child is invited to take part (2.5-16yrs). Rehearsals take place within normal class times. The show is performed in a local theatre over a weekend. Family and friends can buy tickets from our website a few weeks before the scheduled date.
Our next whole school dance show is scheduled for DECEMBER 2019.
MUSICAL THEATRE SHOWS:
Red Star’s Saturday Production Class perform two shows per academic year!
Show 1 - Rehearsal period is Sept-March, performance beginning of March.
Show 2 - Rehearsal period is March-June, performance end of June.
Students audition for each show and if successful join rehearsals which take place every Saturday afternoon at our Putney studios. Students will sing, dance and act, learning lines, stage directions and choreography!
Past productions have included Bugsy Malone, James & The Giant Peach, The Wizard of Oz, Once Upon A Time (written by our very own Director Nicole Feeley), Peter Pan (March 2019), The Greatest Show (June 2019).
Seussical the Musical Auditions
Saturday 14th September | 1:30-5:15pm
Audition for our next Production on Saturday 14th September, 1.30-5.15pm at our Putney Studios.
If you are successful rehearsals will be every Saturday 1.30-5.15pm. The performance will take place at the beginning of March in a local theatre.
Students are not required to prepare anything for the audition, as they will learn all audition material on the day. Students should wear all black clothing that they can move freely in, as well as hair tied back off their face.
Children must be aged 5+ in order to take part in the show. All levels and abilities welcome.
If successful there is a fee of £650 to take part in the show. This covers the rehearsal lessons, theatre hire, costumes, prop, microphones etc… (payments can be made in instalments)
BREAK DOWN OF COST:
£500 is tuition fee for 20 weeks, which works out at £25 per week for 3.5 hours. This pays for your director, musical director, choreographer and production assistant, plus studio hire.
£150 is your productions fee which pays for staffing over the show weekend, costume, props, set and licence fee.
Ticket sales cover theatre hire, technicians, stage managers and microphones.
